#ArtClass - Tessellations
A tessellation is created when a shape is repeated over and over again covering a plane without any gaps or overlaps. Another word for a tessellation is tiling.
As an Art Teacher, my favorite lesson is the tessellation learning technic. It’s a wonderful way to teach patterns as well.
After your explanation about tessellations and some examples, students should create a template that they are going to trace.
An educational video animation, which explains the basic principles behind tessellating shapes and patterns. It shows a simple visual demonstration of tessellating triangles, squares and hexagons.
